Getting Motivated in just 5 steps

Step 1

Write down your goal

"Goals that are not written down are just wishes"

Fitzhugh Dodson

Having a clear vision of where you are going will help you stay focused and motivated. Be specific about your goal, state as many details as you can imagine. Come back to your written goal throughout the week to reread or even rewrite your goal. Staying focused on your goal will help you keep your motivation high and focused on what you need to do to achieve that goal. For extra motivation try placing your written goal somewhere that you will see it numerous times a day. This way you can reread your goal throughout they day and keep that motivation going!

Step 2

Picture the end result

"Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world"

Ralph Waldo Emerson

While you are going through your day take time out to picture your goal as already completed. What will you see? Who will be there? What will it feel like? Having a clear picture of the end result will help you defeat two of the things holding us back from reaching our goals, fear and doubt. We will have to do things out of our comfort zone to achieve our goals and that can frighten us. We can be doubtful that we are able to face our fears and do what is necessary to achieve our goals. Picturing the end result reminds us of why achieving our goal is so important to us and will give us the extra bit of motivation to push us through our fears and doubts so we can achieve our goals.
